Waste Pro, Longwood, Florida, has announced the promotion of two current employees.
Bill Jones, division manager for the company’s Fort Myers, Florida, division has been promoted to divisional vice president in southwest Florida. In addition to his leadership of Waste Pro’s Ft. Myers Division, Jones now oversees the operations of Waste Pro’s new operating facility in Collier County.
A graduate of California State University-Fullerton, Jones has more than 30 years of experience in the waste industry and previously managed a private solid waste company in southern California.
In 2018, he joined Waste Pro as the company’s Fort Myers division manager. In that role, he managed one of Waste Pro’s most successful divisions with more than 200 employees and nearly 150,000 residential customers in Cape Coral and unincorporated Lee County. Earlier this month, Waste Pro opened its new Collier County facility, which services 8,000 residential customers in Immokalee and Ava Maria.
“I work with an incredible team of people in the Southwest Florida region,” Jones says. “I’m immensely proud of what we’ve accomplished. I’m excited to expand my role within the region as we continue to grow our southwest Florida market.”
Waste Pro also has promoted company veteran Bob ten Haaf to divisional vice president. Ten Haaf, who previously served as division manager of the company’s Bradenton/Sarasota division and recycling facility, will now also oversee operations for the cities of Fanning Springs and Clearwater and the counties of Citrus and Pasco divisions—totaling more than 171,000 customers.
Ten Haaf has more than 30 years of experience in the waste industry, including hauling sites, landfills, transfer stations and recycling facilities—one of which is located on-site in the Sarasota division and is owned and operated by Waste Pro. He has been with Waste Pro for a decade, initially leading operations in the Carolinas and Georgia before relocating to Florida in 2018.
“I’m looking forward to working with more of the great Waste Pros here in the West Coast region,” ten Haaf says. “This area is growing by the day, and we’re ready to meet that growth with the exceptional service our customers have come to expect.”
