Waga Energy, a France-based technology provider in the landfill gas and biomethane sector, has obtained both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications in Europe. Initiating the process in fall 2022, the procedure was certified in June by Paris-based Aequitas Certification and will also benefit the Group's North American subsidiaries.
ISO 14001 sets out criteria for an environmental management system and involves a continuous improvement approach in terms of sustainable development.
The ISO 9001 certification, meanwhile, is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS) aimed at continuous improvement in customer satisfaction, cost-cutting and gaining competitiveness.
“Operating excellence and environmental performance are at the heart of the success of Waga Energy’s projects in the service of the energy transition and the fight against climate change," says Martin Tramoy, quality, hygiene, security and environment director at Waga. "These ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications show that we are doing our best to guarantee optimum satisfaction for our customers, our partners and the investors who place their trust in us.”
Waga says the double certification, obtained in less than a year, reflects the structuring of the group and the efficiency of the procedures implemented to support international growth.
The company's system produces renewable natural gas by upgrading landfill gas using its patented Wagabox purification technology. Waga Energy currently operates 17 Wagabox units in France, Spain and Canada, with 16 more under construction in France, Canada and the United States.Latest from Waste Today
