VLS Environmental Solutions, a Houston-based sustainable waste management services provider, has opened its greenfield waste-to-energy (WTE) facility in Quartzsite, Arizona. The company celebrated the facility’s opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in January.
“We are overwhelmed by the incredible support we’ve received from the community and industry partners,” says Greg Bringle, facility manager of waste services at Quartzsite. “This facility represents an important step towards more sustainable, efficient and compliant waste management practices for our clients. We’re excited to be at the forefront of providing these services.”

As previously reported by Waste Today, VLS Quartzsite serves multiple industries, including construction, manufacturing and oil in Arizona and California. The facility has a capacity of 10,000 tons per month and accepts materials such as the Department of Transportation (DOT) hazardous items, containers, plant waste, bulk items, sludges, solids and liquids.
VLS says the Quartzsite facility emphasizes its commitment to environmental responsibility by offering “zero waste” solutions and WTE processing.
Last year, VLS expanded its environmental services capabilities through the acquisitions of Texas Molecular and SRE Environmental.
