Viably’s strategic expansion and latest technology enhance waste and recycling operations for customers in the Western U.S.

To better meet its customers’ evolving needs, Viably has expanded its operations across California, Arizona and Nevada. This expansion provides customers with improved service efficiency and access to advanced waste processing technologies, supporting sustainable practices and operational growth.

Viably (formerly Komptech Americas) recently embarked on a strategic expansion of its direct Komptech sales and service across the Western United States. A vital component of this initiative is the establishment of a new parts inventory warehouse and service fleet based in Sacramento, California. This facility serves as a critical hub, enabling faster fulfillment of parts and services to meet the dynamic demands of waste and recycling operations across the region. With the new western operations, Viably’s customers benefit from increased equipment uptime and enhanced availability of parts and technical resources, allowing their operations to run smoothly and efficiently.

Kurt Schoppe, Viably’s director of operations for the Western U.S., is leading this expansion. With extensive experience in the waste and recycling sector, Schoppe and his team work from the company’s core values: Invested-Guides-Evolving-Together. The team takes a customer-first approach in everything it does to strengthen customers’ ability to be more successful.

“Our approach at Viably is to form and maintain truly collaborative partnerships with our customers, putting their success at the forefront of everything we do,” said Schoppe. “We tailor solutions that tackle customer challenges and ensure our clients have the tools and support they need to thrive.”

Advancing Grinding Capabilities With New Technology

In addition to geographical growth, Viably recently introduced the Komptech Lacero high-speed, horizontal grinder, a state-of-the-art wood waste grinding machine. The Lacero design evolved through a strong collaboration between Komptech engineers and Viably senior sales team members. The goal and eventual result was to deliver a purpose-engineered machine that efficiently meets the rigorous demands of wood waste recyclers, mulch producers, orchard removal and organics recycling companies in North America.

The Lacero offers robust features that enhance productivity and efficiency. Equipped with a powerful CAT® C18 diesel engine with a maintenance-free PT Tech clutch, the grinder delivers up to 812-horsepower, ensuring all-day, high-throughput production for a variety of waste processing tasks.
