Sierra International Machinery, Bakersfield, California, has announced the commissioning of a new Sierra 510 wheeled material handler at Upper Valley Disposal, Napa, California.
The completely updated Sierra 510 material handler offers operators tremendous advantages over earlier models, according to the company. The unit is 58,000 pounds featuring a reach of 33 feet. It is outfitted with a Tier 3A compliant Cummins diesel engine and Rexroth hydraulics designed for easy service. The operators cab features a cab riser for enhanced visibility and safety.
Bob Pestoni, owner of Upper Valley Disposal, says “The machine is fantastic. We’ve experienced increased production since commissioning the unit. Operation is very fast and cycle times are extraordinary.”
He adds, “The cab elevates further, so our operator has better visibility.” This has increased safety while also allowing him to more efficiently place material onto our infeed. We’re thrilled that we made the upgrade.”
Sierra offers a variety of material handlers from diesel power hard rubber cranes to electric pedestal machines. The company says the units are ideally sized for transfer station and material recovery facility (MRF) operations. Sierra even offers a fully electric wheeled unit.
“We’re happy to continue our long relationship with Upper Valley Disposal” says John Sacco, president of Sierra. “We have supplied them with equipment for many years, and to know that they came back to us because of our service and machinery that has delivered long life, low operating costs and superior production is very satisfying.”
Sierra International Machinery supplies of a wide range of recycling machinery including ferrous shears, balers and shear/baler/loggers; two-ram balers; single ram balers; diesel and electric material handlers and a range of other solutions for recycling operations. With roots dating back to 1946 Sierra was first a recycling company and then a machinery supplier.
