Tomra Recycling has announced it is hosting a webinar on what it calls the “data-driven recovery” of plastics packaging. The webinar, titled “Maximizing plastic packaging recovery – how data upgrades plastics performance,” is on Wednesday, July 14, at 10 a.m. eastern daylight time.

The increased demand for recycled-content packaging and bottle-to-bottle recycling has created a need for waste management firms and material recovery facility (MRF) operators to recover higher volumes of plastic with lower contamination rates from dry and mixed waste collections, says the company.

“With presorted plastics and recycled plastic pellets sales continuing to rise, now is the ideal time to future-proof or retrofit plastic sorting systems to take advantage of this valuable trend,” states Tomra.

The company says its webinar will focus on the automated sorting of a range of polymers and how its newest generation AutoSort device “makes a tremendously positive impact on packaging waste processes.”

During the 45-minute live session, Tomra Recycling Product Manager Philipp Knopp “will share insights into realizing more accurate sorting of polymer packaging and improving plant performance,” says the company. Another Tomra product manager, Johannes Jacoby, “will highlight important trends like using the Industrial Internet of Things to optimize automation and create more transparency for supply chains and plant operators.”

An interactive Q&A session will provide attendees an opportunity to seek greater detail, Tomra says, adding that registrations for the webinar are being accepted on this web page
