The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) has posted three new requests for bids that pertain to investments being made at the waste agency’s Morse Road Transfer Station in Columbus, Ohio.
In one request for bids (RFB) notice, SWACO says it seeking to purchase and install what it calls a bulk waste compactor and material conveyor at the transfer station.
Another bid refers to the replacement of the facility’s tipping floor and other significant infrastructural upgrades while the final one seeks new signage for several of the Grove City, Ohio-based agency’s properties.
Regarding the baling or compactor system, SWACO says that equipment will be installed after the wider improvements project has been completed, with the duration of that construction expected to take up to a full year.
In addition to replacing the tipping floor, the more comprehensive upgrade project also includes the “construction of a compactor bay addition, removal of existing fuel island, installation of storm and sanitary controls, and all associated utilities modifications,” says SWACO.
The third request for bids recently announced by SWACO involves the proposals for what it calls “wayfinding signage” at SWACO's facilities.
“The project is collectively collaborating the fabrication and installation of wayfinding signage that displays SWACO’s exterior brand and sign guidelines within the built environment,” states the agency.
SWACO says it intends to “refresh” its brand and information display capabilities via the project, which will entail new signage at seven SWACO locations in and near Columbus.
RFB documents pertaining to all three projects can be downloaded from the SWACO website until 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, April 11, says the agency.
SWACO says a mandatory virtual pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for Monday, March 21, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and sealed bids are due and must be received by SWACO no later than 2:00 p.m. on April 11.
