Sennebogen offers electric drive, power pack for material handlers

Sennebogen LLC, Stanley, North Carolina, has released developments with its electrically powered material handlers. The firm offers eGreen machines that can reduce operating costs, the company reports in a news release on its electric-powered material handlers. Available from the factory on any Sennebogen purpose-built material handler, the eGreen electric drive has been adopted in applications from scrap recycling to barge loading.

During the Germany-based bauma 2019 event, Sennebogen demonstrated how its eGreen machines operate on the job. The company displayed its 830 E Series material handlers that rely on a 225-horsepower electric motor, with power supplied through a large cable connection behind the machine. 

According to Sennebogen, the 830 E Series material handler also has an integrated power pack that allows the machine to generate its own power, which helps when working in more distant work zones. Adding a power pack to the 830 E Series material handler enables the machine to move easier around the job without having to worry about power supply. As soon as the machine needs to leave its stationary power supply, all operators need to do is remove the large plug, roll up the power cable onto the built-in reel and then start up the diesel power pack in the counterweight, Sennebogen reports in a news release on the power pack. With a quick switch, the motor starts to draw from the diesel power pack instead of the electrical mains. 

The power pack supplies the electric motor with the energy to support the machine’s work functions anywhere it needs to go, Sennebogen reports. The power pack is also offered on a lineup of Sennebogen material handlers ranging from 818 to 840 models.
