Rumpke hosts ribbon-cutting ceremony for new headquarters

It has been about 40 years since Rumpke built its last corporate office, the company reports in the news release. The new three-story building is more than 74,000 square feet, and about 180 employees from seven other buildings will work in the one office.

“Rumpke is a leader in the waste and recycling industry and a top choice employer, and this building reflects that as well as our vision for continued progress as an environmental solutions provider,” said Amanda Pratt, director of communications at Rumpke, at the ceremony. “The new offices provide the Rumpke team with a first-class workspace to innovate and grow, helping us fulfill our commitment to our customers to implement the most environmentally sound business practices and best service options.

“For Rumpke, we hadn’t updated our corporate offices in about 40 years. We were long overdue for expansion,” she continued. “Although only 180 employees work at the building currently, the structure is designed to accommodate about 220.”

The new facility will house several groups at Rumpke, including its IT department, corporate safety, human resources, corporate communications and finance team. 

Rumpke’s new headquarters is part of a larger industrial development area in Colerain Township that can potentially include up to eight buildings and more than 286,000 square feet of office space. 

“We wanted to spur growth and continued improvements within our hometown-Colerain Township. We hope this development opens up more positive opportunities and attracts new business to the Township,” Pratt said. "It simplifies the ability for us to communicate, and we're hoping it sparks continued creativity."

In all, Rumpke’s team of 3,100 employees service Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia. The 87-year-old family-owned firm owns or operates 14 landfills and 11 recycling facilities, including a unique glass processing operation.
