Rotochopper Inc., a St. Martin, Minnesota-based horizontal grinders, shredders and screening equipment maker, drew nearly 60 people to its annual Rotochopper University training program in February.
Held at the company’s manufacturing facility in St. Martin, the event brought together Rotochopper owners and operators from North America and beyond for training.
Rotochopper University is led by the company’s customer service department, and the company says it is a "premier" training opportunity for companies that have purchased Rotochopper equipment within the past year. The two-day class offers participants a close look at equipment operation best practices, preventive maintenance techniques and troubleshooting strategies.
This year, attendees received a facility tour, took part in hands-on demonstrations and were offered networking opportunities.
Points of emphasis in this year’s curriculum included instructions on installing main rotor bearings and on adjusting sheave and tensioning the drive belt on Rotochopper grinders.
The event welcomed nearly 60 students representing various companies from around the world.
“Rotochopper University continues to be an event that provides great benefits to our customers,” says Adam Asmus, service manager at Rotochopper and an instructor at the event. “The connections made with our service team and fellow operators will undoubtedly benefit their operations for years to come."
Rotochopper quotes one attendee as saying, “Rotochopper University offers invaluable insights from instructors with real world experience. The blend of classroom instruction and hands-on shop time provides a comprehensive learning experience that equips attendees with practical skills they can immediately apply in their work.”
Another participant told Rotochopper, “I found the staff to be incredibly supportive and approachable. They were always ready to address any questions or concerns, making the learning experience both enjoyable and enriching.”

Rotochopper's equipment is used to process wood, C&D materials, asphalt shingles, municipal solid waste, storm debris and to screen aggregates.
