Reworld, a Morristown, New Jersey-based waste management company, led a series of volunteer events across the U.S. for World Cleanup Day, with teams representing dozens of volunteers cleaning parks, beaches and roadways in more than 20 locations from Alabama to Hawaii.
“Our World Cleanup Day efforts showcase, with so many of our employees volunteering their time and effort, not only our commitment to sustainability and giving back to local communities at the corporate level but also on a personal level,” says Tequila Smith, chief sustainability officer for Reworld. “Our teammates believe in our mission and in showcasing our commitment to the local communities where we live and work.”

In Dickerson, Maryland, Reworld employees and volunteers scoured Martinsburg Road, picking up litter and debris along the thoroughfare as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to beautifying local environments. In Kapolei, Hawaii, employees cleaned roadways leading into the H-Power facility, removing debris to enhance the local infrastructure.
In Chester, Pennsylvania, employees participated in a park cleanup beneath Commodore Berry Bridge as part of an Adopt-a-Park initiative, while in Hunstville, Alabama, employees participated in an Adopt-a-Spot mile event.
In Pasco County, Florida, in partnership with Keep Pasco Beautiful, Reworld organized a cleanup at Crews Lake Park, where volunteers worked to preserve natural spaces and waterways as part of a countywide environmental effort. In Palm Beach, Florida, employees took part in the International Coastal Cleanup, focusing on clearing debris from Juno Beach. Held in conjunction with Ocean Conservancy, this event aimed to combat marine pollution while preserving coastal ecosystems.
In Newark, New Jersey, teams cleaned up debris in Branch Brook Park, while Delaware Valley employees worked on cleaning Subaru Park and the surrounding areas. Reworld Seconn staff partnered with Save the Sound for a beach cleanup at Bluff Point, Connecticut.
In Poolesville, Maryland, Reworld volunteers educated the community about the company’s sustainability efforts while conducting a local cleanup. In Islip, New York, employees participated in a townwide event to remove waste and debris from public spaces. In Camden, New Jersey, teams cleared debris from streets and surrounding neighborhoods as part of the Camden Strong initiative. Reworld Volunteers joined the Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful event in Tampa, Florida, working to clean up McKay Bay Park.
Volunteers in Fairfax, Virginia, as well as Hempstead, Huntington and Babylon, New York, also organized cleanups in the local communities.
