Shamrock Environmental, a portfolio company of CenterOak Partners, has been acquired by Republic Services, Phoenix. The transaction closed Feb. 10 with Los Angeles-based investment banking firm Houlihan Lokey serving as lead financial advisor to Shamrock. The company also was advised by Cleveland-based Brown Gibbons Lang & Co.'s (BGL's) Environmental Infrastructure investment banking team.
Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Browns Summit, North Carolina, Shamrock is a leading vertically integrated provider of industrial waste and wastewater treatment services. The company operates six permitted centralized wastewater treatment facilities and several solidification sites, collecting and transporting recurring liquid waste for a diverse and commercial and industrial customer base across more than 20 states.
Through a strategically positioned network of operating locations, a team of approximately 300 employees and an extensive fleet of company-owned tankers and vacuum trucks, Shamrock collects and transports recurring liquid waste for a commercial and industrial customer base across more than 20 states.

CenterOak Partners is a Dallas-based private equity firm managing $2.5 billion of equity capital commitments with a focus on making control-oriented investments in middle-market companies. The firm invests in business services, industrial services and consumer services. CenterOak has a history of creating significant value through organizational development, operational improvements and transformational growth, according to the news release.
As a leader in the environmental services industry, Republic Services offers recycling, solid waste, special waste, hazardous waste, container rental and field services.
Houlihan Lokey says this transaction highlights its preeminent position and continued success advising clients in the environmental services sector. Houlihan Lokey has successfully advised on 34 signed or closed transactions since the beginning of 2023.
