Raymond James, St. Petersburg, Florida,
announced June 3 that it is expanding its Diversified Industrials Investment Banking
practice with the hiring of Andy Schwartz as managing director and co-head of its
newly constituted Commercial & Industrial Services division.
Schwartz has experience working in numerous commercial
and industrial services subsectors, including facilities and industrial
services, environmental and waste services, utilities and infrastructure
services, and rental services, among others.
Schwartz has
managed domestic and cross-border merger and acquisition (M&A) and capital-raising
transactions for a range of clients, including private equity funds and
founder-owned private companies. Raymond James has advised on several notable
transactions in water, environmental and infrastructure services in recent
years, and according to the company, Schwartz’s experience complements and
strengthens the firm’s positioning in those sectors as well as expands the
firm’s coverage in other relevant markets.
“Andy is a
well-regarded professional who is adept at helping clients pursue exceptional
outcomes on their most important and sizable monetization events,” says Alper
Cetingok, head of Raymond James’ Diversified Industrials Investment Banking
practice. “The expansion of our Commercial & Industrial Services team marks
a significant milestone for the Diversified Industrials practice, and the
enhanced coverage in this sector allows us to better serve clients as their
businesses grow and evolve in response to changing market conditions. I’m
excited to have Andy join Brendan Tierney as co-head of this important effort,
as their combined leadership, industry knowledge, transaction experience and
relationships across the sector ensure that our clients receive world-class
advice and support related to their capital formation and M&A initiatives.”
Schwartz joins
Raymond James from Chicago-based Lincoln International, where he was a senior
leader in the firm’s Business Services practice focused on M&A and capital
raising transactions for private equity funds, private companies and public
company clients. He previously held investment banking and private equity roles
at American Capital and Minneapolis-based Piper Jaffray. Schwartz received a bachelor’s
degree from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and his master’s
from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
“I’m thrilled
to join Raymond James,” Schwartz says. “The firm has a time-tested track record
of leveraging a range of investment banking services to deliver strategic
alternatives designed for successful outcomes for its clients. It is an
exciting time in the commercial and industrial services market, and I look
forward to participating in the firm’s continued growth.”
