The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA), Arlington, Virginia, and Informa Markets have announced the official signing of a four-show, eight-year partnership agreement to continue producing the annual environmental industry tradeshow WasteExpo and to jointly launch a new biennial event, the Waste Summit.
The contract was signed during WasteExpo 2025 in Las Vegas and marks a milestone in the long-standing collaboration between NWRA and Informa Markets. This new agreement extends through 2033 and the organizations say it positions both groups to deliver enhanced experiences for exhibitors and attendees while supporting the industry’s ongoing innovation and growth.
“This partnership marks a new chapter in delivering world-class events for the waste and recycling industry,” says Michael E. Hoffman, president and CEO of NWRA. “By aligning the show cycle with industry innovation and adding a new summit focused on collaboration and leadership, we’re creating more opportunities for our members to grow, connect and lead the future.”

Starting in 2027, WasteExpo, an Informa event, will shift to a biennial format, allowing for larger product launches, expanded exhibits and deeper engagement opportunities at each show. On alternate years, beginning in 2026, NWRA and Informa will introduce the Waste Summit—a new event focused on education, relationship-building and leadership development. The inaugural Waste Summit is planned for May 2026, in Washington, D.C.
“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with NWRA,” says Nancy Walsh, president, North America, Informa Markets. “Together, we are building on WasteExpo’s incredible legacy while introducing new ways to support the industry’s evolution through education, innovation and community. We are confident providing these complementary platforms will enable even more impactful opportunities to connect, grow and lead each year.”
Details about the 2026 Waste Summit and WasteExpo 2027 will be shared in the months ahead.
