Nopetro Energy, a Miami-based developer and operator of renewable natural gas (RNG) projects, has announced the addition of Scott Brinner as executive vice president of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) division, as well as the promotion of R. Edward Hart to chief supply officer.

As executive vice president of CNG, Brinner’s focus is developing new CNG and renewable natural gas (RNG) fueling stations, cultivating partnerships with government and public entities, building deeply integrated, long-term customer relationships with owners and operators of multiple different fleets and expanding into potential new business lines.

Before joining Nopetro, he worked as a certified public accountant with Ernst & Young, and as an investment banker with Wells Fargo and Raymond James, where he advised companies in transportation/logistics and waste services. Most recently, he served as executive vice president of corporate development and strategic accounts for OmniTRAX, a railroad and real estate development company, where he assisted in building and implementing growth strategies. He holds a master’s in business administration from University of Chicago and received his bachelor’s in accounting and finance, as well as a master’s in accountancy from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
In his new role as chief supply officer, Hart will manage all aspects of natural gas supply origination, biogenic CO2 market development, pipeline transportation and customer distribution solutions. He was previously senior vice president of Natural Gas Supply for Nopetro.
With over 40 years of experience working in the energy industry, he has a comprehensive background in marketing, management and consulting across petroleum, natural gas, electricity and renewable sectors. Throughout his career, he has worked for one of the nation’s largest independent refining and marketing companies, a large electric and gas utility, as well as founded a natural gas production and marketing company.
