Winona, Minnesota-based Miller Scrap & Disposal is celebrating one year of providing local trash hauling service in the Minnesota communities of Goodview, Minnesota City and Winona.
“For five generations now and over 100 years, Miller Scrap has been providing local recycling and waste solutions to the Winona area, including scrap recycling, roll-off dumpster service, junk removal and the operation of a municipal solid waste (MSW) and construction & demolition (C&D) transfer station,” the company says.
In 2023, the company expanded to offer weekly hauling service for homes and businesses in its operating region via Miller Disposal.
“We started to receive inquiries from community members after the area’s largest locally owned garbage business sold to an out-of-state company,” says Jerry Miller, board chair and president of the company.
“Being local and providing recycling and waste solutions to the community has been a priority of the Miller family and our dedicated team since my grandfather started collecting furs and recyclables by horse and wagon through the alleys of Winona in the early 1900s. Our family is deeply rooted in this community, and we are committed to providing local service people can count on.”
To celebrate its one-year anniversary of local weekly trash service, Miller Scrap & Disposal is giving away over $1,000 to its customers through a “Big Money Giveaway” promotion.
According to the company, there will be a monthly drawing from July through November for $100 and one final drawing for $500 in December. Miller Disposal customers are automatically entered into the monthly drawing and there is no purchase necessary. The firm says more information about the contest is available on its website.
“Being locally owned and operated, helping people save money and supporting the community where we live, work, and raise our families has been a priority of the Miller family and our incredibly dedicated team for over 100 years," says Jeremy Miller, the firm’s chief financial officer and quality, environmental, health and safety manager. "We simply love our community.
