The Meridian Waste Alabama LLC business unit of North Carolina-based Meridian Waste has announced its acquisition of the assets of Waste Away Dumpster Service LLC of Huntsville, Alabama.

According to Meridian, the purchase allows it to add both commercial frontload and permanent and temporary roll off hauling routes to its Alabama portfolio. Additionally, Meridian Waste says it will assume the management of Waste Away’s existing hauling facility in Huntsville, where it will house administrative and maintenance functions serving customers and accounts in the region.

“This acquisition boosts our commercial presence in Alabama while maximizing internal efficiencies through our Noble Hill Landfill,” says Walter Hall, CEO of Meridian Waste. “It’s a smart, strategic use of capital that brings long-term revenue stability and operational synergies.”

The Noble Hill Landfill in Etowah County, Alabama, was acquired in September of last year as part of the purchase of Evergreen Environmental Partners LLC, which also was based in Alabama.

Meridian says the Waste Away assets will add “significant densification” to its Huntsville commercial collection footprint, including operations in Madison, Limestone, Marshall and Morgan Counties in northern Alabama.

The Waste Away transaction represents Meridian Waste’s 34th acquisition since the company transitioned to private stock under the ownership of Warren Equity Partners (WEP) in April 2018, according to the firm.
