Meridian Waste Acquisitions LLC, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based non-hazardous solid waste services company, has announced multiple internal staffing promotions and outside hires.
Ryan Perry, formerly Meridian Waste’s chief accounting officer since 2019, has been promoted to the role of chief financial officer. Perry’s experience managing the company’s fiscal responsibilities has included monthly financial reporting, annual financial audit, annual budgeting, acquisition review and due diligence and capital deployment. In his new role, Perry will also manage banking and bonding relationships while leading the company’s 32-member accounting team.
Jill Kelledy has transitioned from senior director of financial operations and has been promoted to vice president of financial shared services. In this position, Kelledy will focus on corporate-wide treasury services, financial software integration and utilization, accounts receivable, accounts payable and training.
Additional accounting and finance roles include the hiring of Miles Hathcock as area controller for Alabama and Mississippi and Kim Henson as area controller for Virginia. Both new employees to the company bring a strong and proven background of accounting expertise while working within the solid waste industry for 10 and 22 years, respectively.
Gentry Shows has been elevated to area president for Alabama to integrate and manage the Alabama assets the company acquired from Evergreen Environmental Partners LLC and Arrow Disposal Services Inc. Shows was formerly government affairs director of Arrow Disposal Services.
For the Mississippi assets acquired from the acquisitions, Cole Crozier has been internally tapped to lead the Mississippi operations as district manager for Mississippi. He will manage 18 residential contracts and consolidate operations to enhance financial returns, foster stronger communications and instill greater safety practices among all team members, the company says.
With the semi-retirement of Larry Seivers from area president for Tennessee, Meridian Waste has promoted Matt Lavender to area president for Tennessee. Lavender has most recently held the position of general manager for Knoxville landfills, and in 2023 his role expanded to include the Knoxville hauling company. While Seivers will continue to serve in a management capacity, financial and operational responsibilities have transitioned to Lavender.
Meridian Waste operates 31 hauling companies, eight transfer stations/material recovery facilities, three municipal solid waste landfills and four construction and demolitions landfills in addition to a fleet of commercial, residential and roll-off trucks.
