Milford, Connecticut-based Indeco North America has introduced a mulching head attachment product line the company says can increase jobsite productivity and reduce costs by allowing mobile equipment operators to create mulch from land clearing debris and other materials.
“These new mulching heads represent the culmination of over 40 years of experience in the hydraulic attachment business,” says Mike Fischer, CEO of Indeco North America. “The end result is a product line that not only achieves superior production results in the field but also provides real, lasting benefits to the environment. The IMH series is a real game changer.”
The company says the IMH product line has been designed for a range of land clearing, site preparation, invasive vegetation management and storm damage removal applications tied to the electrical utility, natural gas pipeline, public works and agriculture industries. The new IMH Series “utilizes your excavator’s auxiliary hydraulics and is tailored to fit a wide range of carriers from five to 50 tons,” according to Indeco.
The IMH mulching heads are available in 10 direct-drive and belt-driven models designed and built for applications such as maintaining right-of-way for pipe and power lines; power distribution and substation facilities; highways and roads; telecommunication lines; residential and commercial farms and for use in other specialized field maintenance settings.
Compared to the cost of manual clearing using a crew of workers with chain saws and chippers or via burning, Indeco says its IMH series “is an easy, one-step, environment-friendly process which puts unwanted vegetation back into the ecosystem as mulch to protect the soil from wind and rain erosion while providing it with beneficial microorganisms to make it more fertile.”
Among the features and benefits of the IMH series, according to Indeco, are:
- Hardox steel construction;
- single-piece shaft and severe-duty bearings;
- a unique tooth configuration designed for optimal cutting;
- interchangeable mounting brackets; and
- it can be used on multiple machines.
Indeco says the new product line is part of its “smart-growth” strategy of identifying, evaluating and delivering new products designed to provide quantifiable business value to the construction and demolition industries.
Indeco North America is a provider of hydraulic breakers, compactors, pulverizers and pedestal booms for the demolition, scrap, recycling, mining and road construction industries. It is the United States arm of Italy’s Indeco Ind. SpA, and oversees Indeco operations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and parts of South America.
