based in Seattle, The company began offering distributed, prefabricated, on-site options to convert food waste to energy in 2013. The Kickstarter page describes the HORSE as portable, affordable and creates jobs and independence from fossil fuel energy and landfilling.
Benefits of the HORSE, according to the Kickstarter page include:
- The HORSE will eradicate curbside garbage pickup and the carbon emissions associated with long distance trucking;
- Creating a whole new shared carbon-negative transportation model for local use: less trucking + no landfilling + renewable energy; and
