Elgin, Illinois-based Impact Environmental Group (IEG) says it has acquired Olympic Wire and Equipment of Costa Mesa, California.
IEG describes Olympic Wire as a premier provider of baling equipment, baling wire, parts and service that was founded by Jim Walker in 1995
Subsequently, says IEG, “Olympic has established itself as a trusted partner and supplier to the waste and recycling industry.” The acquiring company says Walker “will continue to lead Olympic as part of IEG to help drive the continued growth of the business.”
On its website, Olympic indicates it offers several types of baling wire, used equipment including horizontal and vertical balers, and components for equipment manufactured by Harris, American Baler, Green Machine and other recycling machinery makers.
IEG refers to Olympic Wire as having locations in Southern and Northern California, and says the newly acquired company provides it with “a strategically located service hub for one of the nation's largest markets.”
According to IEG, Olympic is its fourth acquisition in the waste and recycling equipment service sector, following Naples, Florida-based FleetGenius Compactor Solutions earlier this year and UCS Equipment and WOR Inc. earlier this decade.
“These acquisitions, in addition to organic growth initiatives, have positioned IEG as the leading nationwide provider of compactor and baler service, with highly trained technicians spanning the country, in addition to a robust installation and refurbishment teams housed in facilities across the United States,” says IEG.
Founded in 1999, IEG describes itself as a global environmental products and service business providing new and replacement products for waste and recycling collection containers, compaction equipment, transportation, building infrastructure, spill containment and dewatering applications.
