Woodridge, Illinois-based Hendrickson, a Boler company, has partnered with Peterbilt Motor Co. to offer Primaax EX, a severe-duty vocational air suspension system as a part of the chassis enhancements for the Peterbilt 567, 579 and 589 models.
Primaax EX will be available in capacities of 46,000 and 52,000 pounds, has a 10-inch ride height and is compatible with drum and air disc brakes.
“Peterbilt is excited to expand our partnership with Hendrickson by adding the PRIMAAX EX to our suspension offerings,” says Jake Montero, assistant general manager of sales and marketing for Denton, Texas-based Peterbilt.
The Primaax EX suspension is designed specifically for the rigorous demands of vocational and severe service such as construction, refuse, mixer, logging and heavy-haul applications. The system features a robust structural design which enhances durability, reliability and handling, according to Hendrickson. The system also incorporates optimized suspension geometry which helps minimize driveline vibrations and control suspension windup and corresponding frame rise. Premium heavy-duty rubber bushings require no lubrication and are performance-tested for longer service life.
The suspension provides enhanced stability and handling for vehicles with heavy loads and high centers of gravity to confidently negotiate tight turns with minimal sway, Hendrickson says.
“Primaax EX has grown tremendously in popularity over the years and has become widely accepted by fleets throughout the industry as their preferred 100 percent off-highway approved vocational air suspension for multiple severe-duty applications,” says Sean Whitfield, director of marketing at Hendrickson Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems. “We are excited to partner with Peterbilt to expand the availability of Primaax EX across the full breadth of their vocational model lineup to bring the tremendous advantages of Primaax EX to more Peterbilt customers.”
Primaax EX offers a full range of suspension scalability from 23,000-pound single axle configurations up to 78,000-pound tridem setups.
