Dungster LLC has unveiled a new mobile, in-vessel composting product line. The aeration equipment can be installed in waste industry-standard roll-off dumpsters to facilitate on-site composting.

The Fairview, Pennsylvania-based company saw a need a need in the agriculture industry for an affordable mobile composter, and the units can enable waste haulers to convert waste into compost, a valued commodity.

The 10-, 20-, 30- and 40-yard capacity composters can be dropped into unmodified waste dumpsters, and multiple units can be used for greater capacity. Multiple units could be placed into service at multiple locations, providing the flexibility to move composting capacity around through the year or as the seasons change, according to the company.

Remote composting makes it possible to convert raw materials into compost at or near the point where organic waste is generated, creating lower transportation costs as compost tends to be two-thirds of original feedstock, according to a news release.

Dungster composters use solar power, marine-grade batteries and an electrical control panel to recharge the batteries during the daylight hours, allowing for 24/7 automatic operation of the in-vessel aeration equipment. The company recommends using DungsterGard covers, made of durable molded plastic, to deny wildlife access as well as to protect compost during inclement weather.

The mobile composter was on display at Compost2024.
