The Burnsville (Minnesota) Patch reports officials in Dakota County, Minnesota, issued a request Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, for volunteers to participate in the recycling initiative at the 2016 county fair in Farmington.
The Dakota County Fair will be Aug. 8-14. Event coordinators will compost food scraps and other organic materials for the third consecutive year. Volunteers will work at stations throughout the fairgrounds to advise attendees on what is recyclable and the recycling process, the article says.
“Dakota County has taken steps to improve education efforts in 2016 to keep organic materials out of the landfill,” the request says.
Volunteers will receive free training, admission to the fair and a t-shirt. Volunteer information can be found here.
