During the 25th annual meeting of the Construction & Demolition Recycling Association (CDRA) that took place March 10-11 in Las Vegas, the group held its annual fundraising event to support its research and advocacy efforts. According to a release from the association, the annual fundraising event broke all previous records for the CDRA by generating $56,000.
“Over the 25-year history of the CDRA, the group has been committed to building resources for our members, to market development and to educating regulators and legislators about the recycling of construction materials and demolition debris,” CDRA Executive Director William Turley says.
“The CDRA has directly funded, or helped to facilitate, nearly $1 million in research and advocacy to understand and support C&D recycling and market development. Our annual fundraising event is essential to maintaining our ability to make these long-term investments in the industry. Through the overwhelming generosity of our members, we were able to raise an additional $56,000,” Turley adds.
The CDRA has previously funded research on a range of subjects that include concrete recycling, shingle recycling, C&D fines characteristics and the environmental benefits and economic impact of C&D recycling.
