Cards Holdings Inc. has announced the acquisition of Whittinghill Disposal Services, a key competitor in the commercial and industrial waste hauling services sector out of Muskogee, Oklahoma.
This purchase will increase Springdale, Arkansas-based Cards’ permanent business portfolio and provide new service offerings for eastern Oklahoma customers.
“This acquisition increases density in our Oklahoma market and bridges the gap between our current Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas operations,” Cards CEO Dan Christensen says. “I know the additional territory expansion will excite our customers through additional collection offerings and our focus on recycling solutions.”
The Whittinghill acquisition adds roughly 7,000 customers, eight trucks and 15 employees. In addition to the company’s collection services, Cards is acquiring recycling operations for construction and demolition material, wood grinding and composting services.
“These acquisitions help us grow our foothold, acquire talent and further complement the services we offer in existing markets,” Christensen says. “Through either organic or in-organic service expansion, we will meet customer demands and grow market share within our geographic reach.”
This acquisition was made possible through a recent capital investment made by Kinderhook Industries. The investment has allowed Cards to continue its growth strategy while becoming the leading provider of waste and recycling services in the mid-south.
Cards Recycling is a fully integrated, locally owned and operated, waste and recycling hauler that offers portable restroom, residential, commercial, roll-off, recycling and disposal services for homes, businesses and contractors through its network of transfer stations, recycling centers and landfills.
