Columbia, South Carolina-based Capital Waste Services LLC (CWS) has acquired South Carolina Waste LLC (SC Waste), a hauling firm based in Orangeburg County, South Carolina.

SC Waste provides collection, hauling and disposal services to commercial, construction and municipal customers in that county.

“The addition of SC Waste is a great start to the New Year for Capital Waste,” CWS Chief Operating Officer Brian Yorston says. “While CWS has expanded its reach to new states in recent years, we are excited to further expand in South Carolina, near CWS’ initial Columbia hub.”

This latest acquisition is Capital Waste’s 11th add-on acquisition. Last year, CWS acquired the Sandlands C&D Landfill in Gresham, South Carolina; Southern Central Waste Services LLC of McMinnville, Tennessee; and Priority Waste Services Inc. of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee.

In June 2022, CWS added the waste collection assets of Pascon LLC, Lexington, South Carolina, to its operating footprint.

“This acquisition builds further density within our core market of South Carolina as we continue to grow our service offering and sales team in the region," says Matt parker, CEO of CWS. "We remain focused on continued acquisitions throughout the Southeast and are excited to continue our growth throughout the region.”

Capital Waste formerly was a portfolio company of private investment firm Kinderhook Industries LLC, New York. Last November it was acquired by Vaughan, Ontario, Canada-based GFL Environmental.

CWS is a regional provider of solid waste hauling services for residential, commercial and industrial waste generators. It has hauling locations in Aiken, Bluffton, Charleston, Columbia, Conway, Florence and Orangeburg South Carolina; Chattanooga, Manchester and Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; and Dalton, Georgia. The firm also operates eight transfer stations and five landfills in the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia.
