Capital Waste Services LLC, a Columbia, South Carolina-based portfolio company of New York City-based Kinderhook Industries LLC, announced Oct. 13 that Brian Yorston has been hired as the company’s new COO.
Yorston began his career in 1995 with Houston-based Waste Management, where he served as a regional manager and corporate director before being promoted to vice president of the Compaction Equipment division. Most recently, Yorston served as national director, sales and strategic planning for Los Angeles-based Rehrig Pacific, a manufacturer of plastic pallets, plastic containers, roll-out recycling bins and commercial containers in the waste and recycling industry.
“Brian is an experienced executive with a proven record of operational success, team building, and leadership. I know Capital Waste will benefit tremendously from Brian’s experience as we continue to grow the business into the future,” Capital Waste Services CEO Matt Parker says.
“I am eager to join Capital Waste and help the company meet its growth objectives. I hope to further promote the company’s service-oriented culture and employee focus while implementing process improvement to maximize results,” Yorston says.
Capital Waste currently services over 50,000 residential customers across seven municipal contracts as well as over 3,400 commercial, industrial and construction and demolition waste customers.
