Bridgestone Americas Inc., the U.S.-based subsidiary of Japan-based Bridgestone Corp., has launched its new BDR-AS3 retread, a Bandag solution designed for durability and increased traction no matter the season or condition. Bridgestone’s Bandag division is dedicated to retreating rubber tires.
The BDR-AS3’s nondirectional tread pattern enhances wear, the company says, helping to keep fleets on the road longer. Other features include:
- Enhanced tread design: Bridgestone says the product’s nondirectional tread design with 22/32nd tread design delivers an 18 percent improvement in wear over the Bandag BDR-AS1.
- Dependable traction: 3D siping allows for confident all-season traction down to the pull points
- Winter traction: Bandag’s BDR-AS3 is 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake certified with a traction index 73 percent higher than the required certification, keeping fleets moving year-round despite harsh winter conditions.
“We are thrilled to add the new BDR-AS3 to Bridgestone’s full portfolio of Bandag retreads,” says Steve Hoeft, president of the commercial truck group for Bridgestone Americas. “The package and delivery (P&D) and last-mile delivery segments are vital components to the supply chain and require a unique tread product to stay on the roads, with substantial improvements in runout and cost per mile. The BDR-AS3 meets the needs of these applications with its durable and dependable design."
