Los Angeles-based Velocity Truck Centers will host an Electric Vehicle Ride + Drive event Aug. 23-34 at Irwindale Speedway in Southern California.
Ohio-based Battle Motors is billing the event as “an unparalleled opportunity" to experience the latest advancements in electric truck technology, featuring Battle Motors’ EV fleet alongside Daimler’s Freightliner eCascadia, eM2, and Rizon trucks. The trucks are Class 4-to-8 fully battery-electric models.
“We are incredibly excited to host this groundbreaking event, bringing together some of the most revolutionary electric truck models in the industry,” Velocity Truck Centers President Conan Barker says. “This event is a prime opportunity for attendees to experience firsthand the immense potential and advantages that electric trucks offer. It aligns with our vision of fostering sustainability in the trucking sector while meeting the evolving needs of our customers.”
The EV Ride + Drive event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
Battle Motors will have Class 6, 7 and 8 trucks on display, while Daimler’s Freightliner brand will display its eCascadia and eM2 models. Rizon, another Daimler brand, will bring Class 4 and 5 trucks.
According to Velocity, “The smaller class 4/5 vehicles present an excellent pathway to compliance with regulations due to the lower purchasing price and easier, less expensive charging solutions.”
