Advanced Disposal facilities recycle American flags

The company will retire them in accordance with the United States Flag Code or recycle them for free.

Advanced Disposal, an integrated environmental services company headquartered in Ponte Vedra, Florida, announces the launch of its second annual Flag Retirement Program—a free service for the communities they serve to properly dispose of their old, worn, torn and faded American flags.

In 2015, Advanced Disposal collected more than 2,539 flags with the largest being over 600 square feet. Advanced Disposal is continuing the program following the overwhelming response of the Flag Retirement Program last year.

Beginning June 1 and continuing through Sept. 11, all 226 Advanced Disposal locations will collect old American flags and have them properly retired in accordance with the United States Flag Code or recycled into new American flags.
“While the freedom, justice and sacrifice our flag represents will live forever, all flags eventually reach the end of their useful lives,” states Advanced Disposal CEO Richard Burke.  “We are proud to be an American company and it is our honor to offer this free service to our customers and neighbors.”
