On
June 19, Stericycle announced its Executive Vice President and CIO David
Stahl will be departing the Bannockburn, Illinois-based company effective June 27. The notice came via a Form
8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
According
to the report, Stericycle Executive Vice President and CFO Janet Zelenka will assume
the additional duties and responsibilities of CIO effective June 28.
Per
the filing, the change “reflects the streamlining of the company following
execution of its portfolio rationalization initiative, deferral of deployment
of the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to 2021 given
restrictions imposed by COVID-19, the advanced state of preparation for
deployment of the ERP system and the continued focus on cost management.”
Stericycle
states that it anticipates that combining the roles of CFO and CIO “will
further support effective IT-related internal controls implementation,
operation of the ERP system as designed and enhanced efficiency of financial
systems.”
The
company also notes that Zelenka has previous IT experience from her time
working as CIO of Deerfield, Illinois-based Essendant Inc. Because of
Zelenka’s additional responsibilities, the company’s board of directors has
approved an annual salary increase from $575,000 to $625,000.
