Palfinger HT 160 SLD 3 hook lift

Palfinger, which has its North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois, has released an enhanced telescopic HT 160 SLD 3 hook lift for the North American market, which it says emphasizes “superior performance, effortless installation and ease of use.” Its features include:

  • a new hook shape with adjustable height that makes it easier to connect to the container bar
  • lifting and dumping capacity of 16,000 pounds and higher performance with a 10 percent reduction in dead weight
  • a mechanical, zero-maintenance hold-down system that saves the driver from exiting the cab to secure the container
  • the option to include a “softstop” feature that slows down the hook loader 5 degrees before it lands on the base frame, reducing stress on the hook loader and chassis

Sparta Manufacturing Olympus accelerated ballistic separator

Canada-based Sparta Manufacturing has unveiled its new Olympus accelerated ballistic separator. The product is designed to deliver efficiency, speed and reliability to the single-stream recycling sector. Features of the ballistic separator include:

  • conveyor belts traveling 600 feet per minute that are integrated into ballistic paddles, allowing them to quickly separate two-dimensional materials and operate at a steeper angle
  • an intuitive HMI (human-machine interface) control panel where future updates can be made via software downloads
  • easy belt change design with a gas strut cylinder take-up system to quickly track or change belts practically tool-free
  • an electronically driven maintenance door to safely access paddles for cleaning and rear bearings for maintenance

Komar OSP-200 organic separation processor

Groveport, Ohio-based Komar Industries LLC has partnered with Athens Services, City of Industry, California, to produce a series of organics separation processors, including the OSP-200, which is designed to help towns and cities meet California’s goal of 75 percent organic waste diversion by 2025. The OSP-200 is designed for use in transfer stations and material recovery facilities (MRFs). Its features include:

  • a small footprint for easy integration into existing sorting lines within MRFs
  • the ability to process organics that meet quality standards for use in anaerobic digestion or composting systems
  • a high-pressure auger compacting system with a proprietary wedge bar separation system designed to extract organics and liquids from mixed organic and municipal solid waste
  • a continuous 50-ton-per-hour processing rate
