Volvo CE L20 and L25 Electric wheel loaders

Volvo Construction Equipment, with North American headquarters in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, has upgraded its L20 and L25 Electric wheel loaders to provide more comfort and efficiency while maintaining strong performance. Their features include:

  • a top speed of 12.4 mph and parallel linkage that delivers high breakout torque in various applications
  • the ability for operators to preheat and defrost the cab at a designated time for quicker startup
  • a spring-applied, hydraulic-released wet-disc brake that eliminates some maintenance costs and downtime associated with disc brakes
  • the ability to fully charge in six hours with a 240-volt socket or Level 2 charging station

Heil Environmental RevAmp ASL

Chattanooga, Tennessee-based Heil Environmental, a part of the Environmental Services Group and Dover Corp., has introduced its 27-cubic-yard RevAmp, an electric vehicle equipped with an automated side loader (ASL). Other features of the vehicle include:

  • an auger-style compactor that tapers from 30 inches to 24 inches and includes a self-cleaning hopper
  • a lift arm with an eight-second cycle time and no arm kick-out, enabling the RevAmp to collect in alleys and other tight quarters
  • an electric-powered ejection panel that allows the operator to dump without tipping, providing more stability at landfills
  • the ability to pair with a diesel, compressed natural gas or electric chassis

Vecoplan VRZ preshredders

Germany-based Vecoplan AG, with its U.S. subsidiary based in Archdale, North Carolina, has unveiled its VRZ series preshredders for processing domestic and commercial scrap. Vecoplan says the preshredders offer low-maintenance operation to break up and shred bulky materials. Their features include:

  • a rotor with sickle-shaped ripping teeth that can shred materials laden with extraneous items, such as minerals or nails
  • a torque drive with no mechanical components to reduce maintenance requirements
  • wear-resistant and replaceable sealing elements at the rotor and side wall to prevent materials from lodging between the front surface of the rotor and the machine housing
  • several options, such as a modular design and various cutting tables and rotors
