BHS Max-AI technology
Bulk Handling Systems (BHS), Eugene, Oregon, and its wholly owned subsidiary NRT, Nashville, Tennessee, have announced the introduction of Max-AI technology, an artificial intelligence (AI) system. The first available machine using Max-AI technology is an autonomous quality control (QC) unit that sorts container streams following optical sorting. Features include:
- identifies recyclables and other items for recovery
- employs multilayered neural networks and a vision system to see and identify objects similar to a human
- drives improvements in material recovery facility (MRF) design, operational efficiency, recovery, system optimization and maintenance
- controls robotic, optical and other sorting equipment
- provides real-time material composition analysis and makes autonomous decisions
