Pedigree Technologies, Fargo, North Dakota, plans to showcase the PT Tag 20 and PT Tag 5 at WasteExpo May 2-4 in New Orleans. The Bluetooth tags have a range of up to 200 meters, or more than 650 feet, and are less expensive than GPS-based tracking systems, making them ideal to help monitor lower-value assets. The asset tracking tags:
- are designed for a long life of consistent operation with batteries that last 20 years and five years, respectively
- can send alerts when equipment is left behind or when machinery is removed from a work site without permission
- use Bluetooth wireless signals that are picked up and displayed on the OneView platform to repeatedly transmit messages with an asset’s unique identifier
- are purpose-built for harsh environments
