Waste Pro names new business development manager
Longwood, Florida-based Waste Pro USA Inc. has appointed Kenny Rivera to serve as its business development manager in the southeast Florida region.
According to Waste Pro, Rivera has served in a variety of roles at Waste Pro, including in government affairs, as an operations manager and most recently as a division manager. The company says he has worked his way up the ranks in the southeast Florida region and is experienced in municipal sales, commercial sales and operational best practices.
In his new position, Rivera will work with Waste Pro’s Regional Vice President Kenny Skaggs and Vice President of Business Development Russell Mackie to maintain municipal and commercial growth throughout the southeast Florida market area.
“Kenny knows the southeast Florida market and has an extensive understanding of the Waste Pro way,” Skaggs says. “He understands the value of being part of the local communities and the importance of a focus on safety and service. His extensive skill set will continue to add value to our customer outreach, education and sustainable market growth.”
GBB expands staff with addition of project manager
Gershman, Brickner & Bratton Inc. (GBB), a Vienna, Virginia-based solid waste management consulting firm, has announced that Morgan McCarthy has joined the firm as a project manager.
McCarthy has more than 13 years of environmental, recycling and waste management experience as a consultant and in the private sector. In addition to working as company executive and with multiple cities and counties as a consultant, she briefly worked on various initiatives for a city in California, gaining firsthand experience with the public sector’s inner workings.
“Morgan has a unique and interesting background,” says GBB Senior Vice President Chris Lund. “The combination of her environmental industry experience, law degree and contracting expertise will benefit the GBB projects she will lead.”
Prior to joining GBB, McCarthy was a project manager for two West Coast environmental consulting firms, where she led a wide range of projects assisting local governments in providing efficient and sustainable environmental services and programs to residents. Previously, she held key roles with regional Southern California companies that provided waste removal services and equipment and recycling programs.
In addition to her environmental expertise, she holds a law degree and has experience with contract drafting, development, review and negotiation; regulatory compliance; and compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
McCarthy has a Juris Doctor from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Liberty University in Virginia. She also is actively involved in several national, regional and local professional associations dedicated to promoting recycling and advancing environmentally and economically sound solid waste management practices.
Mack Trucks North America names president
Mack Trucks, Greensboro, North Carolina, has named Jonathan Randall its new president of Mack Trucks North America, effective Dec. 1, 2022. The company says he will report to Martin Weissburg, global president of Mack Trucks and chairman of Volvo Group North America.
Randall joined Mack in 2016 as senior vice president of North American sales and most recently served as a senior vice president of North American sales and commercial operations. Mack says he brings more than 25 years of commercial vehicle experience to his role, with original equipment manufacturer leadership positions in truck sales, product marketing, truck leasing and aftermarket parts and service.
Randall, who has a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University, will continue to be based at Mack’s headquarters in Greensboro, according to the company.
“Jonathan is a proven leader who is passionate about working with our dealers and customers to grow Mack’s business as we introduce new services and products to the North American market,” Weissburg says.
Develon names new CEO as Doosan brings on new global sales head
Chris Jeong recently was named the new CEO at Develon (formerly Doosan Infracore North America). He succeeds Edward Song, who was promoted to global sales head of Hyundai Doosan Infracore in Seoul, Korea.
Jeong most recently served as CEO for Doosan Infracore European Union. He joined Doosan in 2006 as a senior corporate strategy manager after completing his master’s in business administration at Carnegie Mellon University. He led strategic activities across various markets before he was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing for emerging markets. Jeong oversaw sales and marketing for Doosan employee teams in Asia, Oceania, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Brazil and India.
“I’d like to acknowledge the many accomplishments of Doosan Infracore North America under the leadership of Mr. Edward Song,” Jeong says. “Edward was instrumental in getting the new organization structured in 2018 as we recommitted the company to the heavy construction equipment industry in North America.”
Song led the former Doosan Infracore North America to success during his time as CEO. Among his accomplishments in his time with the company, Song established two regional parts distribution centers in North America, opened a machine customization plant in Savannah, Georgia, and most recently introduced the new Develon machine monitoring center at the company’s corporate office in Suwanee, Georgia.
“It has been my pleasure serving you and your customers over the last five years, and I look forward to continuing to support the company and our products in my new role,” Song says. “Much has transpired since 2018, and I’m pleased by the progress we’ve made working together to enhance the Doosan brand and grow the product line in North America.”
Song says he is eager to see what the future holds for his successor, the company and its dealers and customers.
“Chris will continue building on the strong foundation we’ve established, particularly the growth during the last five years,” Song says. “His experience and insight will help us continue to move the company forward and expand our footprint in North America.”
Jeong’s first major assignment will be to oversee the company’s exhibit at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2023 in Las Vegas from March 14-18.
Safe Fleet names senior vice president of commercial vehicles
Safe Fleet, based in Belton, Missouri, has selected Steve Kiefer as its senior vice president of commercial vehicles for North America. Kiefer replaces Brad Templeman, who retired at the end of 2022.
Based in Safe Fleet’s Elmhurst, Illinois, office, Kiefer assumes responsibility for the commercial vehicle product portfolio and market share growth for its last-mile delivery, commercial upfitting and video-based safety solutions.
“I am excited to join the Safe Fleet Commercial Vehicle team,” Kiefer says. “I look forward to growing awareness for Safe Fleet’s market-leading brands and innovative safety solutions that help keep commercial vehicle operators safe and productive.”
Kiefer joins Safe Fleet from Manitex, a $250 million publicly traded manufacturer of truck-mounted cranes and specialized lifting equipment, where he most recently served as its president and chief operating officer. In this role, he was responsible for successful top-line and earnings before interest taxation and amortization growth across Manitex’s brands in the U.S., Europe and South America.
Before joining Manitex, Kiefer was the business development, sales and marketing vice president at Pettibone Group, a division of The Heico Cos., where he drove global sales growth and implemented channel development strategies. He also served as president of Intellitec Products, a provider of energy management, electronics, lighting and controls solutions in various markets, including the truck and trailer market.
