Valet Living named a 2017 Top Workplace by the Tampa Bay Times
Tampa-based Valet Living, formerly Valet Waste, has been awarded a 2017 Top Workplaces honor by the Tampa Bay Times.
The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an associate feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics LLC, an Exton, Pennsylvania-based research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including alignment, execution and connection. Valet Living ranks No. 21 on the in the “small company” category.
“We are thrilled to be named a 2017 top workplace and are looking forward to continuing our growth within the Tampa Bay community,” says Valet Living President and CEO Shawn Handrahan. “This award means a lot to us because, not only is it for our associates, but it was given to us by our associates.”
Valet Living, founded in 1995, provides doorstep collection and recycling amenities to multifamily communities. The company currently serves roughly 900,000 units in 35 states.
In addition to doorstep trash and recycling collection services, Valet Living provides maintenance services and pet products and amenities.
“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits,” says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. “But to be a top workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees.”
Claffey adds, “Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there and the feeling that everyone is in it together. Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a top workplace.”
Valet Living provides its services to more than 475 property management companies and owner groups in the multifamily housing industry. It is a portfolio company of the private equity group of Ares Management LP and Harvest Partners LP.
