Meridian Waste, an integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services company based in Greensboro, Georgia, announced it was awarded solid waste services contracts by the cities of Wrens and Louisville, Georgia, at recent council meetings. The change in contracted haulers was based upon multiple factors including previous management experience with the two cities, the management’s service record and the commitment to utilize a smaller collection truck to help maintain and preserve the cities’ streets.
Beginning Sept.2, Meridian Waste will provide residents with once a week garbage collection utilizing 95-gallon carts. The residential carts will be delivered by August 30 to each home along with detailed collection education materials, company contact information and the opportunity to sign up for service alerts. The fee for solid waste services will be paid by the cities to Meridian Waste and remain as a line item on residential units’ water bills.
“At Meridian Waste, garbage service is more than just a competitive price, which we offered to both Wrens and Louisville,” Bobby Williams, area president of Meridian Waste, says. “We believe that the most important aspect is the team of environmental professionals who stand with the company, who interact with your citizens, who keep the trucks running smoothly and on time, and who listen to customers’ needs. … [It’s these people who] make a world of difference in our vital service industry. Both cities deserve quality service, and that is exactly what Meridian Waste will deliver.”
