Welcome to Waste Today magazine. We’re thrilled to publish this inaugural issue and to formalize our full-fledged entry into the huge and vital waste management industry. On Jan. 1, 2017, we launched our website, WasteTodayMagazine.com, and since the first week of January we’ve been distributing our weekly e-newsletter.
Our team is not new to the waste industry. We have been publishing Recycling Today since 1963 and Construction & Demolition Recycling since 1999. We continued to grow our coverage of the broader waste and environmental services industry when we launched Renewable Energy from Waste magazine in 2012 and when we introduced the Solid Waste Report, a biweekly e-newsletter, in 2016. These two predecessors of Waste Today are now part of the new title. We will continue to keep our coverage of waste conversion alive online and within the pages of Waste Today and with the Renewable Energy from Waste Conference, Oct. 2-4, 2017, in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Waste Today represents an expansion of our commitment to the waste management industry.
In this inaugural issue, you’ll find coverage of important subjects, including our cover story profiling Kimble Companies, an exciting growth company in Ohio. We also have informative features on residential collection safety, MRF operations, organics diversion, waste conversion and the use of material handlers in the waste industry.
Going forward, we’ll cover a wide range of operational and market-based issues, legislative and regulatory subjects and trends that are impacting the industry. We’ll cover municipal solid waste (MSW) but also special wastes, including medical, hazardous, industrial and liquid. We’ll cover collection, routing and landfill management but also recycling, conversion technologies and composting—truly a global view of the industry.

The magazine is bimonthly, but our website is continuously updated with industry news and analysis. We will not bombard you with daily e-mails, but we do deliver a weekly e-newsletter packed with news and insights. It’s neatly categorized so you can quickly find stories most interesting to you.
If you’re reading someone else’s issue or would like to ensure you receive our e-newsletter, please stop by our website and click on the “subscribe” tab where you’ll be able to quickly sign up.
We’re looking forward to our work in the waste management industry. Please let us know how we’re doing. We’re always interested in feedback, industry discussion and ideas.
