1. How does BTR utilize technology to manage its fleet?
With a fleet of nearly 2,000 trucks, we utilize a variety of technological tools to better serve our customers throughout their rental experience with BTR. This includes the use of hardware and software directly integrated into the trucks, all managed through industry-leading analytics and predictive tools.
2. What drives BTR to utilize technology across its fleet?
BTR’s primary focus with technology integration is purely customer-service driven. As an organization that prides itself on people serving people, our goal is to provide a perfect experience when BTR’s trucks are rented. Additionally, the technology provides our team with a clear overview of the entire fleet, regardless of where it is within our North American network. This ensures that the health of our vehicles is always at peak performance, assuring our customers that BTR trucks are reliable, dependable, and always available.
3. How does technology help BTR reduce downtime and improve productivity?
Utilizing our analytics and predictive technology, our team gathers the latest and most urgent data from each truck well ahead of any downtime event. The majority of service events are minor if caught early, allowing our customers to address the issue before the truck can no longer be operated. In most cases, these services can be performed within a reasonable time frame, not requiring the truck to be out of service during peak times. The use of technology allows us to operate at a near-perfect 99 percent uptime across the entire fleet, providing peace of mind for our customers and ensuring peak fleet productivity.
4. How does BTR’s predictive technology work?
BTR’s predictive technology and analytic tools are powered by historical data along with current truck data to sense any potential changes in information from the various sensors within our trucks. This allows BTR’s technology to predict future out-of-service events ahead of time. This level of predictability helps our customers avoid costly repairs, lengthy downtime scenarios and typically provides ample time to rectify minor issues before they become catastrophic.
5. What does the future of fleet management look like at BTR?
Fleet management will continue to build and expand on our existing technology platform through industry developments, new products and services, and customer feedback. Our technology-first approach to fleet management has allowed us to serve our customers with industry-leading uptime, with a goal of achieving 100 percent in the future. Additionally, our near-term goal is to provide our customers with real-time visibility, alerts, and notifications through a streamlined platform as our trucks are utilized across all of North America. Our team continues to work closely with all major OEM partners, technology experts, and our customers in search of continuous improvement and delivering the perfect rental experience.
